If you spent your early January in Las Vegas, chances are you were among the 150,000+ people who made their way to CES. Several members of our team travelled to join the madness and engage in discussions about the latest in technology. Whilst some Codethings have attended CES before, 2025 was our first appearance as a team at this leading global technology event, which presented a unique opportunity to drive conversations about collaboration and innovation across industries.
We met with industry leaders in automotive, heavy machinery, and semiconductor. We discussed the future of software development with media, partners, and fellow innovators. A standout moment was COVESA's Networking Reception & Demonstration Showcase, where we presented and saw other demonstrations shaping the future of connected vehicles and systems (photo gallery available here). COVESA provided a dynamic platform for meaningful exchanges, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in the evolving mobility ecosystem.
Putting the Spotlight on Trustable Software for Automotive
Our own John Ellis led Connect2Car’s 'Next Level Innovation' Panel, which brought together a diverse line up of speakers. Leaders from Globant, Ford Motor Co., Sony, and exida took the stage. The conversation offered a deep-dive into technologies like AI, Connectivity, Computer Vision, and how they are transforming the automotive interactive experience. Panellists explored how these advancements are improving the driving experience and setting benchmarks for manufacturers to exceed consumer expectations.
John drove the conversation toward the role of trustable software and its importance in safety-critical systems. The conversation highlighted how transparency and reliability are key to building consumer trust, especially as manufacturers aim to anticipate the customers’ needs. The panel examined the intersection of the emerging technologies behind the automotive industry with an emphasis on trustable software, showcasing how innovations are shaping the mobility ecosystem. The session was a forward-looking talk on the future of mobility, emphasising the importance of collaboration to drive the next generation of vehicles.
This panel provided just a starting point for discussions on trustable software, paving the way for a deeper exploration of its impact on safety, consumer trust, and emerging technologies, with potential applications that extend well beyond the automotive industry.

Why Trustable Software Matters
At CES, we announced that Codethink is joining the Eclipse Foundation and Eclipse Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Working Group as a Strategic Member to advance trustable software collaboration. Joining the Eclipse Foundation strengthens our ability to contribute to open standards, foster transparency, and collaborate on innovative projects for software-defined vehicles and beyond.
Trustable software remains the foundation of Codethink’s work across industries, from seamless multi-vendor integration to supporting safety-critical applications. Through our collaboration with the Eclipse Foundation, we are advancing the next generation of innovation, ensuring software systems are resilient, secure, and equipped to address the dynamic challenges of modern technology. This partnership highlights Codethink’s commitment to shaping a future where trust underpins every technological breakthrough.

Let’s Continue the Trustable Conversation
CES was a fantastic way to start the year, marking a successful week of connecting with industry leaders and thought-provoking discussions – primarily about trustable software. Our participation in the Connect2Car panel and the announcement of our membership with the Eclipse Foundation were just the beginning of deeper conversations about how trustable software can drive the future of automotive and other industries.
See you at CES 2026!
